So here's my issue... family. How many pictures of people do you post? Do you use their names? Will they like what they read? Naturally, Herding the Corgi is not a controversial blog but nevertheless I think these questions are worth asking.
Why the sudden boundary of personal space you ask? Well, much like Corgi Butts, Herding the Corgi will be getting a new addition! My husband and I are expecting our first child in September. We're pretty excited and we know that Winnie will love having something wiggly down at her level. (I think a "Get Low" onesy from the Corgi Butts store is definitely in order.) And you KNOW that babies and dogs make for great entertainment.
So here's what I need from you guys:
- Your thoughts on blog privacy
- Your thoughts on living with kids and dogs
As a side note, we've already instituted a "baby gate" to keep Winnie away from construction we're doing to get ready for Baby. She doesn't love it. Poor pup. :-)
Seriously? But how will I be sure you're doing it right? |

Yay! I'm excited for you :) I already mentioned it on my blog, but I think as long as you don't give out your address and phone number or let people know when you won't be home or where you will be going.. I tend to not worry :)
It IS pretty exciting isn't it? :-) I think you're right, Kelly. I may be over-thinking things a bit but it's hard to un-do things after the fact. I'm looking forward to lots of Gibson's big brother updates... there will be a lot of new knowledge to share, do doubt!
Congrats on your pregnancy! How exciting! Be sure to do lots of research on getting Winnie ready for the new arrival. It will be a big change for her, having to share you with a little human.
I tend to provide very few personal details on my blog. Of course, that's pretty easy since it's a dog blog! But seriously, I certainly wouldn't post that I had tied one on at the bar last night and couldn't go to work. Those kind of things can come back and haunt you!
Thanks Taryn! I'm reading a great book on kids and dogs right now (review to follow) that has some pretty great ideas on how to make the new baby fun for the now displaced dog. It's going to be a big change for ALL of us, do doubt. :-)
I know that look that Winnie is giving you..We get it from Lita all the time. What, you think you can do something and leave me out??
As for privacy and blogs I think you have to walk carefully.. I'm hoping that all goes well for you and your family
hi!
1. I gave my name on my website, and I try to "edit" myself out from pics of me and my corgi.
2. From what I heard, corgis are not so great with small kids, giving their inborn herding instinct. I don't have kids, but every time we have guests over that have kids, our corgi likes to run after them and he will also jump on them.
